Sweat for a Good Cause (and for Craft Brews) at the Run for Beer on August 20th

The Pennsylvania Brewery Running Series entices participants not only with the promise of a frosty, foamy beer at the end of a run but also with the promise of contributing to a worthy cause. Every Run for Beer raises funds for a different local nonprofit—over the past 10 years, it’s raised a whopping $250,000! The Run for Beer being held in Millvale on August 20th will funnel the proceeds to 412 Food Rescue.

So when you sign up ($30+), rest assured a portion of your fee is going toward making your community a better place. The other portion is going toward your 5K swag, including a free beer from Strange Roots Experimental Ale. The brewery serves as both the starting and finishing point for the run, which kicks off at 11 a.m. Enjoy a leisurely run, jog, or walk around the neighborhood before looping back to the brewery for your complimentary pint. There will be lots of events and games to enjoy at the finish-line festival, as well as giveaways and door prizes.
